What can you expect for your Invisalign process?
Invisalign is a popular way to straighten your teeth without the hassle of traditional braces Here s the whole journey, step by step
-
When you come for your consultation, we’ll examine your teeth, take a 3D intraoral scan, and have a chat with you about your goals. You can even get to see a sneak peek at what your smile will look like after the treatment using our simulation software. We’ll also let you know if Invisalign is a good fit for you. If it is, you're on your way!
-
After taking a few x-rays and photos, we will use your records to create a plan of movement of your teeth to reach the desired end result.
-
Once the plan is set, a bunch of custom aligners will be made for you. These Invisalign aligners are patented clear, plastic trays that fit snugly over your teeth. They're almost invisible when you wear them, which is a big plus.
-
You'll get your first set of aligners, and we will give you instructions. You'll wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, for at least 20-22 hours a day. You can take them out to eat, brush your teeth, and for special occasions, but they need to stay in most of the time.
-
You'll visit us approximately every 12 weeks. We’ll make sure your teeth are moving as planned and give you the next set of aligners.
-
As you continue through the sets of aligners, your teeth will gradually move into the right position. You might feel a bit of pressure or discomfort when you switch to a new set, but it's usually quite manageable and doesn’t last very long.
-
Once you've gone through all your aligners, your teeth should be where they're supposed to be. Hooray! To make sure your teeth stay in their new, lovely positions, you'll need to wear retainers. They're like those clear aligners but a bit sturdier. You'll wear them every night to make sure your new smile lasts a lifetime.
